ANTIFOULING
Antifouling is the most important product you will use, when you are maintaining your yacht and is essential in order to keep the hull in good condition. Antifouling contains biocides, the active compounds which repel fouling such as slime, weed, barnacles, corals and other species.
The result and durability of the antifouling are dictated by the thickness applied.
To obtain the recommended total thickness of 80 – 100 microns, you must apply 2 coats of the antifouling using a brush. Using the roller tends to make the coat thinner.

Calculating the quantity of antifouling for Powerboats you should buy and use: (other hull types are different)
|
Length at waterline |
x ( Beam + Draught ) = sqm |
divided by 4 – 5 sqm / liter |
Ladenstein 68 |
17.20 m |
x ( 4.50 m + 1.20m ) = 98 sqm |
Total 19.6 – 24.4 Liter |
Ladenstein 72 |
18.60 m |
